Legal Experience
Mr. Gaus has an extensive trial background, including jury trials in both state and federal courts. His litigation cases have included class action discrimination suits, wrongful termination, age discrimination and protection of trade secrets. His litigation practice is supplemented with employment law advice and counseling in the areas of wrongful terminations, force reductions, employment contracts and union relations. Mr. Gaus has extensive experience before the National Labor Relations Board, in both union elections and defense of unfair labor practice claims, and the California Labor Commissioner. He was named Employment Lawyer of the Year in 2000 by California Lawyer.
Mr. Gaus is the co-author of Defense of Equal Employment Claims (McGraw-Hill, 1982). Additionally, he has made presentations to the American Management Association, the Northern California Human Resources Council and other organizations of human resources professionals.
