Legal Experience

William Wilson is a partner at Dillingham & Murphy, LLP specializing in business transactions and commercial litigation.

His practice includes, advice, counsel, and litigation on behalf of public and private companies, and investment funds,
in the areas of securities, complex commercial and antitrust litigation and secured transactions.

Mr. Wilson’s practice includes advising private equity, and venture capital funds, and emerging growth technology companies. Mr. Wilson negotiates contractual agreements including business services agreements, joint venture and partnership agreements, and technology licenses, as well as advises in matters involving financings and private placements, stock and asset purchases.

Mr. Wilson also assists the firm’s labor and employment practice and actively advises management and litigates general employment law, and wage and hour claims in state and federal courts, and administrative bodies.  Mr. Wilson provides employment law training to clients, to professional associations such as the Northern California Human Resources Association (“NCHRA”) and for Lorman Employment Law Seminars - Lorman Employment Law A-Z.

Prior to entering the private practice of law, Mr. Wilson served as a Judicial Extern for The Honorable Martin Jenkins, United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of California and a law clerk in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation – Closed Bank Division.  At the FDIC, Mr. Wilson assisted with the sale of closed bank assets through securitization of mortgage-backed securities.

Mr. Wilson earned his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was a Law Faculty Scholar, a recipient of the Wiley Manuel (Morrison & Foerster, LLP) Scholarship, and concentrated on corporate and high technology law.  Mr. Wilson earned his B.A from the University of California at Santa Barbara and completed coursework in Information Systems Analysis and Design at the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Wilson is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco, the California Minority Counsel Program, and the Charles Houston Bar Association.
